Music has always been apart of my life. From an early age I had a music spark in me; from the little variety shows put on by my sister and myself to chorus and plays in elementary school. My musical interest really took off when I was about 15 and I joined my junior choir at my church. It was something that I really enjoyed but wasn't really challenging because we sang the same dull hymns over and over again. Later that summer I attended a musical workshop held by Minister Marcelous Hannah and which pushed my musical boundaries. In that workshop I did things with my voice that I had never done before. That made me aware of the power and uniqueness of my voice. My sophomore year in high school I was cast in my first musical. From that I learned the rigourous demands of rehearsals and performance and I enjoyed ever minute of it. Last fall my musical dreams were made true when I got to sing on stage with gospel great John P. Kee. It was an exhilerating moment and I tooks weeks to live down. That brings me to here in the waiting period.. should I wait and get a formal education or pursue a career in music. Only time will tell.
